Safer Care Victoria is seeking healthcare, human factors, quality and safety professionals and consumers to join PEER – our platform to support health services to undertake incident reviews.

Health services undertaking sentinel event reviews will soon be required to have an independent panel member on their review team.

PEER will feature potential independent panel members from a wide range of backgrounds, who can be called upon to participate in sentinel and serious event review panels.

By joining PEER you will have the opportunity to improve quality and safety in Victorian healthcare and help health services learn from incidents.

We are seeking applications from:

  • general practitioners
  • nurses
  • midwifes
  • allied health
  • medical staff
  • paramedics
  • health service managers
  • consumers
  • human factors specialists
  • quality and safety professionals.

What happens once I join?

If your application is successful your profile will be published on the PEER platform on our website. Health services can search the platform via discipline, speciality and location to find a suitable independent member for their panel. If chosen, a health service will contact you directly.

How to apply

To submit an application you will need a photo, current CV and consent from your employer. If you are a private healthcare professional you will need a certificate of currency from your insurer. Consumer applicants will need to have a formal agreement in place with a health service to be eligible (for insurance purposes).
