Agency Advisory Committee

The Agency Advisory Committee provides advice to ensure successful establishment and high performance of VAHI in relation to the Victorian Government’s commitment to health reform as described in Better, safer care: delivering a world-leading healthcare system, the Minister’s Statement of expectations, Targeting zero: supporting the Victorian hospital system to eliminate avoidable harm and strengthen quality of care and the Department of Health and Human Services’ current and future strategic plans.

Clinical Measurement and Reporting Advisory Committee

The Clinical Measurement and Reporting Advisory Committee assists VAHI in its work supporting others to drive improvements in the safety and quality of clinical services.

The Committee ensures that the measurement and reporting of VAHI’s clinical quality and safety and patient outcomes performance information is useful, valid, reliable and easy to interpret. This ensures that the information will be used by health services, Safer Care Victoria and its clinical networks and the Department to better fulfil their oversight and improvement responsibilities.

Patient Experience and Outcomes Measurement and Reporting Committee

The Patient Experience and Outcomes Measurement and Reporting Committee assists VAHI in its work to stimulate, inform and monitor improvements in the safety and quality of clinical services.

The Committee ensures that there is a strategic approach to investment and meaningful use of data collected through Patient Reported Experience Measures (PREMs), Patient Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs) and clinical quality registries.

Board Reports Advisory Committee

The Board Reports Advisory Committee assists VAHI in its work to provide Board members of health services with better information by ensuring that the reporting of VAHI’s safety and quality and patient outcomes performance information is useful and easy to interpret.

This enhances the likelihood that VAHI’s performance information will be used by Board members of health services to better fulfil their oversight and governance roles and responsibilities.

Victorian Health Incident Management System (VHIMS) Project Board

The VHIMS Project Board is an advisory group comprising health service chief executives, directors of medical services, quality directors and interstate experts. VAHI has been working with this group to develop a range of interim and long-term strategies to improve Victoria’s approach to the collection and reporting of incident and feedback information.
